Braxton Keith
Braxton Keith calls San Antonio home, but the 20-something songwriter hasn’t spent much time there in recent years. Inspired by the traditional twang of storytellers like Marty Robbins and Merle Haggard, he writes songs that blend modern sounds with the best elements of old-school country. It’s a balance of the contemporary and the classic, glued together by a proud Texas native who’s learned to create autobiographical music about universal experiences.
“These are songs about love, heartbreak, and drinking, which are things everybody knows about,” he explains. "I'm not the only person to write songs about those things. But I'm the only person to do it my way.”
PIONEER BAND
Pioneer was formed in 2020 when former members of the Cornhusker Marching Band Drumline, Matt, Joe, Logan, and Colin, decided they weren’t ready to hang up their instruments after college. Each brought their own talent on guitar, bass, and drums, but after a few rehearsals it was clear they were missing one key piece: a powerhouse lead vocalist.
After hearing Matt’s good friend Hailey sing at weddings, banquets, and rodeos, the group knew they had found their voice. They convinced her to join and Pioneer was officially off and running.
Following a handful of practice shows in 2020, Pioneer hit the road with one goal: play anywhere and everywhere. From small-town bars to packed local venues, they built their reputation the old-fashioned way; high-energy shows, tight musicianship, and a setlist designed to keep crowds on their feet.
In 2022, the band’s sound grew even bigger with the addition of drummer Joe’s wife, Emi, on keys and secondary vocals. Her dynamic stage presence and harmonies elevated the band’s performance, adding depth, versatility, and even more crowd engagement.
As the stages have grown and the crowds have gotten bigger, Pioneer’s mission has remained the same: deliver a high-energy, engaging, and unforgettable performance for audiences across Nebraska — no matter the venue size. In fact, Pioneer guarantees that if you leave a show without hearing something you like… you might not like music!
Today, Pioneer’s lineup features:Hailey DeMers — Lead Vocals
Colin Frye — Lead Guitar
Logan Dickey — Bass Guitar
Matt Brugger — Rhythm Guitar
Joe Brugger — Drums
Emi Brugger — Keys & Vocals
More than bandmates, they’re best friends who genuinely love sharing the stage together. Their chemistry radiates offstage, creating an atmosphere that turns any crowd into a dance floor.
